Charlotte's century-old canopy of willow oaks and the brick bungalows, Colonial Revival estates, and mill-village cottages beneath them are beautiful, but the dense red clay, poor drainage around aging foundations, and the memory of Hugo's 175-mile-inland winds mean that wood rot, termite damage, and storm-weakened framing are facts of life here.
Charlotte Carpentry has been serving homeowners across Charlotte and the surrounding area since 2016. We repair and replace the structural and finish carpentry that keeps your home sound, from wood rot in sill plates and fascia to floor joists softened by moisture, to crown molding and custom built-ins that make a house feel like home. We're fully insured, we do the work ourselves, and we explain what we find before we price it.
Carpentry in Charlotte (28202)
Charlotte sits on the Piedmont, where iron-rich red clay drains poorly around foundations and old wood trim. Summer thunderstorms bring moisture. Winter ice storms stress the same aging trees year after year, and fallen limbs find their way onto roofs and siding. The neighborhoods we know best, Myers Park, Dilworth, Elizabeth, Plaza Midwood, and NoDa, are full of homes built before 1950, with original wood siding, trim, and framing that can outlast poor drainage and storm damage if the rot is caught and repaired rather than left to advance.
Our team has worked on everything from the grand estates under Myers Park's oak canopy to the brick bungalows a mile closer to Uptown, the converted mill cottages in NoDa, and the brick ranch and split-level homes across Cotswold and Sedgefield. We know the access challenges on tight lots, the way water moves (and pools) on Charlotte's rolling terrain, and how to price repair honestly when the wood still has life in it. We've been doing this since 2016.

How a Job Works in Charlotte
Call us at (980) 324-3978 or reach out online to describe what you've found, whether it's soft flooring, advancing wood rot in your fascia or deck frame, or damage from a recent storm. We'll schedule a free on-site visit to look at the work, ask questions about the history of the space, and explain what we find in plain terms. We take photos, measure, and give you a realistic estimate before we commit to anything.
Once you approve the work, we show up on time, do the job with the same carpenters you met, and clean up after ourselves. For structural work like floor joist replacement or load-bearing wall alteration, the Charlotte building department may require a permit, and we'll walk you through that process and handle the coordination. If your property is in an HOA, we can help with any approvals needed.
When we're done, we do a final walkthrough with you, answer any questions about what we've repaired or replaced, and leave your property clean and ready to move forward.
Wood rot repair in sills, fascia, or exterior trim typically runs from $650 to $1,500 depending on the extent of the damage and how much wood needs to be cut out and replaced. Termite damage repair starts at $1,200 for smaller areas and scales up with the size of the framing affected. A soft or bouncy floor, usually caused by moisture in the subfloor or floor joists, often calls for joist repair or sistering (reinforcing the existing framing), starting around $1,800. Crown molding, baseboard, and finish trim work starts at $450 to $550 per project. Larger structural work, like beam replacement or load-bearing wall removal, typically runs $3,500 and up. The final price depends on the size of the damaged area, how easy it is to access, the condition of the surrounding wood, and whether permits are required.
